Aging doesn't happen on one level: it happens on multiple levels at the same time. That's why at ROA, we build combination protocols, because the right treatments layered together deliver outcomes that no single device can achieve on its own.

One of the most common questions I get is: "Can't I just do one treatment and be done?" I completely understand the appeal. But the honest answer is not if you want results that actually last and look natural.

Here's the thing. Aging doesn't happen on one level. It happens on multiple levels at the same time. The deep structural foundation shifts, the skin loses its firmness and texture, and volume redistributes in ways that feel unfamiliar. If you only address one of those layers, the others are still working against you. And you can see it in the results.

That's why at ROA, we build combination protocols, because the right treatments layered together deliver outcomes that no single device can achieve on its own.

The technologies I work with

Each of the four technologies I use has a distinct role:

Ultherapy works at the deepest level, the same structural layer targeted in surgical lifting. It uses focused ultrasound to rebuild the foundation from the inside out, which is what gives you that genuine lift rather than just surface tightening.

Thermage addresses the skin itself. Through controlled radiofrequency energy, it remodels collagen over time, improving firmness and overall skin quality. It's gradual and natural. The skin genuinely improves rather than just appearing temporarily smoother.

XERF is a hybrid RF technology that I use specifically for contour refinement. What I love about it is how evenly it distributes energy, which means smoother transitions and blending that looks natural, not treated. It's especially effective around the jawline and lower face.

Renuva is for volume, but not in the filler sense. It creates a structural scaffold that your own tissue integrates with over time, so volume comes back gradually and authentically. It works beautifully where traditional fillers can look heavy or artificial.

How I combine them

Every protocol I build is different because every face is different. But there are three combinations I come back to most often, based on where aging tends to be most active:

For the eye area, brow heaviness, eyelid crepiness, that tired look that won't go away, I pair Ultherapy Prime with Thermage FLX. The Ultherapy lifts the brow from the structural layer while Thermage smooths and tightens the skin above and around the eye. Together, the result is a more open, rested expression without anything looking pulled or done.

For volume loss, hollowness in the cheeks, loss of structure in the midface, I use Renuva paired with XERF. Renuva rebuilds the volume naturally from within, and XERF refines and blends the surrounding contours so everything coheres. The lift looks like your own face, just restored.

For the jawline and neck, softening definition, early jowling, that blurry transition between face and neck, I combine XERF with Ultherapy Prime. XERF sculpts and smooths the contour while Ultherapy tightens the underlying tissue. The result is a cleaner, more defined jaw with smooth, balanced transitions downward.

The bottom line

I combine them because the results are genuinely better. Each technology enhances what the others do, and when you address aging at every level, the outcome is something that feels integrated and natural, not like a series of individual procedures.

If you're curious about which combination makes sense for you, that's exactly the kind of conversation I love having. Every plan we build starts with where your aging is most active and what you actually want to see change.
